After much deliberation, we have decided to end our in-network provider status, with all insurance companies, including Delta Dental.
This decision took effect as of November, 30th 2022. We will continue to accept your insurance, but will do so as an “out-of-network” provider. The logical questions are: Why did we do this? And how will it impact me?
Let me start with the “Why?” We have always maintained a high standard quality of care for our patients and have been unwilling to compromise your care due to an insurance company’s approach and shortcomings. The way insurance companies reimburse dentists creates a system that is driving “low cost” approaches that do not consistently translate to good outcomes. We will not use cheap materials, overseas laboratories, or outdated technologies in order to decrease our cost. In the current environment with increased costs of running a small business it has reached the point where it is impossible for us to offer the high level quality of care with the limitations from insurance companies.
Now, let’s outline “How will this impact me?” For some background information, we have taken this approach to all other insurance plans for over two years now and helped those patients with their out-of-network benefits so we have experience with this transition and we would be happy to help in any way possible. One thing we would like you to do is to be sure to verify your plans “out-of-network coverage” by calling or going on line to check with your dental insurance carrier. From a process standpoint, what this means is that you are responsible for the cost of your appointments at the time of service yet we will submit all of your dental claims for you so that you will be directly reimbursed from your insurance company based on your coverage.
